RHR International Announces CEO Succession Plan

RHR President Dante Capitano to Assume CEO Role; Tom Saporito to Remain as Executive Chairman 

RHR International LLP, the premier firm in the development of top management leadership of Global 1000 companies, today announced that Dr. Dante Capitano will be named Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective December 8, 2016. Capitano assumed the role of President in September 2015. Dr. Thomas J. Saporito, CEO, will remain as Executive Chairman.

Dante has been a major contributor to our success, most recently as President overseeing the day-to-day operating performance of the firm,” said Saporito. “We’ve been working together in preparing for this role for a number of years, and Dante possesses the leadership skills and personal qualities that are critical to the position of CEO. Dante has been a valued partner in shaping RHR’s strategy and culture. He is the right person to lead our firm into its next chapter.”

Capitano joined RHR in 1999 as a staff consultant and has held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility. He ran the firm’s Philadelphia office and then eastern region territory of the U.S. More recently, he was responsible for all U.S. Business and the firm’s global practice areas.

Saporito has served as CEO since 2008. In his role as Executive Chairman, he will focus on RHR’s Board governance, work closely with Capitano and the leadership team on the firm’s strategy, and remain involved in market-facing activities, both client work and business development. 

According to Saporito, who coauthored the book Inside CEO Succession: The Essential Guide to Leadership Transition, “I’m proud we did this the right way. One of RHR’s areas of focus is leadership transition, particularly CEO succession, and we approached this with the same thoughtful process. Our planned transition will help ensure the continued growth of RHR and its commitment to client impact and service.”

Prior to joining RHR, Capitano was on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia and his doctoral degree from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles.
