Dr. Gene Morrissy is a partner in the Chicago office. Gene applies his expertise to organizational and team effectiveness—as well as individual executive development and coaching—at the senior management level, providing companies with operational insights that drive improved execution of critical business functions. Gene has worked with leadership teams to drive alignment, improve team processes, and enhance team members’ ability to address key issues in industries including education, energy, financial services, government agencies, healthcare, high tech, manufacturing, retail, and transportation. In addition, he has worked with boards and CEOs on succession strategies for effective leadership transitions.
Prior to joining RHR International, Gene was a senior attending psychologist on the medical and scientific staff at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago. He was also a member of the teaching faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Mercy Hospital and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
Gene received his bachelor’s degree from Loyola University of Chicago and a PhD in psychology from St. Louis University. He was board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Illinois Psychological Association. Past and current pro bono board-level activities include the Harbor Light Center Advisory Council, the Chicago Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, American and Illinois Psychological Associations, the Society of Consulting Psychology, the Civic Consulting Alliance, and Easter Seals. An accomplished speaker, Gene is frequently called upon to address such topics as succession planning and executive integration. He is an active member of the Irish Fellowship Club, the Executive Club of Chicago, and the Economic Club of Chicago.
