Maja Egnell is a partner in the New York office. Maja is a talent management executive with a breadth of experience working with C-level succession planning and leadership development in various industries across the globe, most notably in construction/project development, telecom, pharmaceutical/biotech, insurance, and auctioneering/specialty retail. Maja has extensive international exposure and understands the demands of global leadership. She has a specific interest in cross-cultural aspects of executive transition, which together with her expertise in diversity and inclusion make her uniquely effective in coaching international and diverse talent.
Before joining RHR, Maja spent over a decade at Skanska, a Fortune 500 construction and project development company. As the head of global talent management, she focused on building and refining the company’s talent management processes and procedures and created development programs for its top executives. She also functioned as an internal advisor and coach for Skanska’s senior management team. In 2012, Maja made her permanent move from Stockholm to New York as vice president of talent development and diversity for the company’s American business units. Prior to Skanska, she worked as a business psychologist at the consultancy firm PAT Management in Lund, Sweden.
Maja graduated from Umeå University in 2001 with a master’s degree in clinical psychology. She is a licensed psychologist by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare and a member of the Swedish Psychological Association. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
