Bio

Reece Akhtar is the Analytics & Product Innovation lead in the firm’s New York office. Reece is an organizational psychologist and data scientist specializing in applied personality assessment and psychometrics. As a member of the Executive Bench® team, he is responsible for the development and validation of technology-driven assessment tools that provide clients with deep insight and rich talent data. His main areas of research and consulting include talent analytics, mining digital signals of behavior, and organizational network analysis. Reece has a passion for combining the latest technological developments with modern psychology.

Prior to joining RHR, Reece was a research manager at Hogan X where he oversaw the development of new tools that used digital records and biometrics to provide accurate measures of personality and cognitive ability. Before Hogan X, Reece was a freelance organizational psychologist consulting on leadership, talent management, and psychometric assessments and developing gamified cognitive-ability tools. He has worked with organizations such as Unilever, The Inter-American Bank, The Guardian, and PHD Media. Reece was also a lecturer at London Metropolitan University where he taught consumer and organizational psychology.

Reece received his master’s degree in industrial/organizational and business psychology, his master of research degree in financial computing, and his PhD in psychology from University College, University of London. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Goldsmiths College, University of London. Reece has authored original research on personality theory, engagement, entrepreneurship, social network analysis, and cognitive ability. His professional memberships include Academy of Management, The British Psychological Society, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
