Stephen Johnston is an Executive Bench® services consultant based in RHR International’s Atlanta office. Stephen brings over eight years of experience in assessing and developing leaders and organizations by serving as a key analyst for talent management program evaluation and reporting that aligns the company’s objectives and continuously improves the hiring, development, management, and retention of talent. Stephen’s conversational and practical style of communication provides leaders with actionable, data-informed solutions to drive efficiency, engagement, and revenue through talent. His expertise includes predictive analytics and machine learning, performance management, competency modeling, training, and change management. Stephen has worked across industries including higher education, healthcare, military, nonprofits, and social services.  

Examples of Stephen’s recent work include: 

  • Providing individualized, one-on-one leadership development feedback sessions for directors and manager for a global Fortune 50 company using a Hogan-based leadership simulation and 360 assessment to identify high potential employees and plan for succession. 

  • Providing technical support in the form of surveying methodology and data analytics for human resource business partners in a large research university to identify key competencies and knowledge, skills, and abilities to validate job codes and create a new performance management and development structure for the university.

  • Conducting successful project management for process improvement and change management for an organization of 1,500 personnel during a merger by evaluating, developing, and instituting operating procedures, training plans, and communication plans for change implementation. 

Prior to joining RHR, Stephen worked as an independent organizational and talent development contractor, consulting with a variety of regional and Atlanta-based organizations to develop their talent strategies in hiring, development, management, and retention. Stephen is also a U.S. Army veteran who served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel by providing behavioral health counseling and services to service members and their families.

Stephen is certified in Hogan Assessments and is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists.
