Dr. Lisa Carey Joins RHR International's New York Office
September 24, 2019—Dr. Lisa Carey has joined RHR International as a partner in the firm's New York office. RHR International is the premier firm in the development of top management leadership of Global 1000 companies.
Lisa is an accomplished global executive, trusted advisor, coach, and business partner to the C-suite and leadership teams, with extensive HR experience in private equity–owned, private, and public multinational companies. She has worked in a variety of industries including professional services, technology, technology-enabled information services, educational publishing, and consumer products.
With a strategic, results-oriented, and collaborative approach, Lisa provides pragmatic solutions to complex business and organizational challenges, builds high-performing teams, and develops robust partnerships to drive change, improve performance, and deliver business growth. She has demonstrated success in creating and implementing innovative HR strategies and programs aligned with business objectives to acquire, develop, and retain key talent; strengthen organizational and leadership effectiveness; enhance culture and engagement; and maximize operational efficiencies through periods of growth, change, and transformation. Lisa has a proven track record of HR leadership with major change initiatives, including organizational restructurings, M&A, and transition planning.

Examples of Lisa’s recent work include:
- Leading a global team to develop and deliver human capital strategies and programs to promote growth, reward and retain talent, increase global consistency and collaboration, and improve shareholder value.
- Driving change and performance management, organizational design, talent/succession planning and development, compensation redesign, and culture and internal communication initiatives.
- Leading the HR element and due diligence for the sale/divestitures of four portfolio companies and assisting with post-transaction integrations, working with the compensation committee of the board of directors and key shareholders.
Before joining RHR, Lisa was chief human resources officer for Corporate Risk Holdings, a private equity–owned global leader in diversified risk and information services and parent company of HireRight, Kroll, and Kroll Ontrack. Prior to joining Corporate Risk, she was senior vice president of human resources at Cengage Learning (formerly Thomson Learning) where she led HR for several business groups and functional areas in the U.S. and international locations and provided strategic direction and support for global HR, talent, and communication initiatives. Before Cengage, Lisa was national HR leader for the Enterprise Applications segment of Deloitte Consulting. Lisa joined Deloitte from Philip Morris USA, where she held progressive HR and talent management roles. Earlier in her career, she served in an HR research consulting role with IBM.
Lisa received a PhD and MA in industrial and organizational psychology from Hofstra University and a BA in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany.
