David AstorinoSenior Partner
Dr. David Astorino works out of the Philadelphia office and is a senior partner serving as the firm’s head of practice areas and head of research and development. David is also a member of the firm’s operating committee.
For more than 20 years, David has helped CEOs, boards, and partnerships—from large multinational companies to entrepreneurial start-ups—successfully drive the human side of transformational change within their organizations. A former professional tennis player, David has worked with Fortune 50 companies, professional athletes, large family businesses, and nonprofit organizations. He is a trusted advisor to CEOs and their leadership teams and excels at guiding them and their organizations to performance excellence, especially during times of transition.
Within RHR, David has played a change-agent role in leading the development and launch of several core offerings. After serving as the managing director of the Philadelphia office, David went on to reinvent and lead two practice areas, Management Due Diligence and Senior Team Effectiveness, and launch the firm’s newest practice, Leading Transformational Change. He has also been instrumental in building out the firm’s Leader Analytics offering.
David’s experience across industries includes work in insurance and financial services, retail, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, private equity, and technology. He is a widely consulted expert on organizational change and senior team effectiveness and has been interviewed in Business Insider, Forbes, and Harvard Business Review, among many others.
Prior to joining RHR, David focused his work on helping others overcome obstacles and achieve personal transformation, applying psychology to help professional athletes effectively manage and utilize their emotions on the playing field. In addition, he has counseled indigent populations, as well as children and families facing challenges of poverty and abuse, to help them achieve positive transformation in their lives.
David received a bachelor’s degree in English literature and a master’s degree in psychology from Temple University. He earned an MBA and a PsyD in clinical psychology from Widener University, specializing in organizational development.
