Jason S. Chaffin



Dr. Jason (Jay) Chaffin is a partner in the Philadelphia office. Jay conducts assessments for individual executives, teams, and organizations in a variety of industries. He brings a diverse experience base—from economics to the performing arts—to RHR. A multi-method approach shapes his recommendations and interventions, which range from individual executive development to multi-phased organizational change engagements. He collaborates to develop innovative solutions for business management and organizational challenges, as well as validating and improving the firm’s core services. He is a coauthor of RHR International’s thought leadership in Senior Team Effectiveness.

Prior to joining RHR International, Jay served as the assistant director of a university-based consulting group. His core work includes research into the effect of individual motivations in influencing decisions, financial risk tolerance, transformational leadership, emotional intelligence, and effective communications. Other research interests include behavioral economics, team dynamics, and personality assessment. Print and television media have sought his opinions as a subject-matter expert in psychology, addressing issues from performance anxiety to the effects of reality television.

Jay received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Harvard College. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology and an MBA from Widener University. Jay is a licensed psychologist, frequent guest lecturer, and active member of the Society for Consulting Psychology.
